Sildenafil is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. It belongs to a class of medications known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors.
Sildenafil does not increase sexual desire but helps improve the ability to achieve and maintain an erection when sexually aroused.
INSTRUCTIONS:
For treatment of erectile dysfunction, you have been prescribed:
Sildenafil, to be taken as directed by your provider (commonly as needed prior to sexual activity).
General guidance:
- Take sildenafil 30–60 minutes before sexual activity
- Effects may last up to 4–6 hours
- Do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period

- Sexual stimulation is required for the medication to be effective
IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING YOUR TREATMENT:
- Do not take sildenafil more than once per day.
