Injectable TRT + hCG Treatment Plan
OVERVIEW:
This treatment plan outlines the dosage, administration, expected benefits, and potential side effects of combined testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Please read this plan carefully, along with the manufacturer’s information provided with your medications, for complete details regarding precautions, interactions, and other important safety information.
Testosterone cypionate is used to restore testosterone levels in individuals with low testosterone (hypogonadism), helping improve energy, mood, libido, and body composition.
hCG is often prescribed alongside TRT to help maintain natural testicular function, support fertility, and prevent testicular atrophy that can occur with testosterone therapy alone.
This combination therapy is individualized based on your symptoms, lab results, and provider guidance.
INSTRUCTIONS:
For testosterone replacement therapy, you have been prescribed:
Testosterone cypionate injection, to be administered as directed by your provider (commonly once or twice weekly)
and
hCG injection, to be administered as directed by your provider (commonly 2–3 times weekly)
General guidance:
- Use both medications exactly as prescribed by your provider
- Testosterone is typically injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly
- hCG is typically injected subcutaneously (under the skin)
- Rotate injection sites regularly (abdomen, thigh, or gluteal area as appropriate)
- Use a new sterile needle and syringe for each injection
- Do not mix medications unless specifically instructed
- Store medications according to instructions (hCG may require refrigeration after reconstitution)
- Dispose of needles in an approved sharps container
Your provider will determine your dosing schedule and adjust based on lab monitoring and clinical response.
HOW TESTOSTERONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY WORKS:
Testosterone and hCG work together to support both hormone levels and reproductive function.
Testosterone cypionate helps:
- Restore testosterone to a normal physiological range
- Improve energy, mood, and mental clarity
- Increase libido and sexual function
- Support muscle mass and strength
- Improve overall well-being
hCG helps:
- Stimulate the testes to maintain natural testosterone production
- Preserve testicular size and function
- Support sperm production and fertility potential
- Help maintain hormonal balance during TRT
This combined approach is often used for individuals who wish to maintain fertility or minimize suppression of natural hormone production.
IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING YOUR TREATMENT:
Use medications only as prescribed. Do not increase your dose or frequency without provider guidance.
Regular lab monitoring is required to evaluate testosterone levels, estradiol levels, and overall safety.
Testosterone therapy may increase red blood cell levels and affect cholesterol or hormone balance.
Possible side effects of testosterone include acne, fluid retention, mood changes, and injection site irritation.
Possible side effects of hCG include injection site discomfort, headache, mood changes, or breast tenderness (due to increased estrogen levels).
Testosterone therapy may suppress natural hormone production. hCG is used to help mitigate this effect but may not fully preserve fertility in all cases.
Seek medical attention if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, leg swelling, severe headaches, or vision changes.
Do not share your medications or use them outside of medical supervision.
